Stephen J. Braunscheidel
Stephen J. Braunscheidel is an Executive Vice President at M&T Bank heading M&T’s Human Resources Division, which supports more than 16,000 employees in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. Braunscheidel also serves as a member of M&T’s Management Committee.
Braunscheidel began his career with M&T Bank in 1978 and has held various positions within the bank’s Consumer Lending, Retail and Human Resources divisions, and M&T Investment Group. He also held the position of Vice President of Corporate Training and Development, encompassing bank-wide responsibilities for technical training and management development. He was promoted to Executive Vice President in charge of Human Resources in 2004.
He is a member of The Conference Board, which provides information on consumer confidence, leading economic indicators and the Consumer Confidence Index to help the world's leading organizations improve their performance and better serve society.
Braunscheidel is a member of the Board of Directors for Banking Administration Institute (BAI) and serves as a Director on BAI’s Investment Committee. BAI is a financial services association and leading industry partner for breakthrough information and intelligence, with deep expertise in retail banking, payments, and regulatory compliance and offers a wide depth of products and services for banks and credit unions.He is also a member of the BAI Group Chief Human Resources Officers’ Roundtable, an executive management network group that meets semi-annually to discuss current industry related trends and challenges.
Braunscheidel received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y.
